Dr. Tyler Nelson was born in Glendale, AZ, and raised in Topeka, KS. Dr. Nelson graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, KS with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Nelson interned at Leavenworth Family Eyecare Center in Leavenworth, KS, and Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS.
Dr. Nelson completed his residency training at Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. There, he gained extensive experience in managing ocular infections, inflammations, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. He also gained knowledge in anterior and posterior segment disease diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Nelson specializes in medical optometry, routine vision, contact lens fitting, and glasses prescriptions. Dr. Nelson is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.
Dr. Nelson relocated to the Pacific Northwest from Oklahoma and sees patients at our North Bend, Snoqualmie, and Sammamish offices. In his free time, Dr. Nelson enjoys working out and hiking.
